The Government of Haiti expressed its serious concerns over the developing situation in some Middle Eastern countries where terrorist groups have joined forces to create a group known as “Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant – ISIL” or “Islamic State in Iraq and Syria – ISIS”, a group more commonly called “Islamic State”.
In a statement from the Prime Minister’s Office, “The Haitian government condemns the attacks against civilians by ISIL, particularly the Christian communities persecuted for their profession of faith different from terrorists. Haiti demonstrates its solidarity with all those suffering of the atrocities committed by ISIL and expresses its readiness to cooperate, according to its means and capabilities, with all the initiatives to improve security on the regional and international level, to increase the exchange of information on migration flows and suspicious financial transactions and to prevent the process of recruitment of foreign fighters.
The Haitian government salute and supports any initiative to contain this dangerous trend and which can help curb its expansion.”
